The Nuraghe were bronze age people who built many of these towers around the island. And you thought the Caswell's were good engineers. There is a basic three corner structure to each tower with differences from tower to tower. Inside is an interior arch that forms a cone (at left) and steps to the top of the tower. Nuraghe Losa is one of the largest of the 7000 on Sardinia and is quite complex with three interior stairwells.
