Naples

Here is the family along the waterfront in Naples (the home of Pizza). We ate pizza just about every day that we were in Naples. It was spectacular stuff. The castle behind us is the Castel dell'Ovo (or Egg Castle). According to a medieval legend, the Roman poet Virgil, who in ancient times was considered a powerful wizard, hid an egg inside a jug hanging in one of the rooms of the castle. Tradition has it that when the egg falls and breaks, the castle and the entire city will fall to ruin. The castle was first build on this spot over 2000 years ago. The castle is in the background of this picture over our shoulders jutting out into the water.
