Lapland

Bunk on the train to Lapland

First we got on the train and it was fun. We got to play in the cabin like it was a jungle gym. We were surprised when we started to do it that mom would tell us to stop but she didn't she just kept reading her book. The train compartment had 1 seat on the bottom and 3 beds stacked on top of each other. Daniel got the top I got the middle mom got the bottom and gab was on the floor. We had dinner before the train and on the train mom let us have ice cream in the food car. It was Vanilla Ice cream swirled with Butterscotch Ice Cream and little Butterscotch pellets. Then we went to bed. I had no problem gong to sleep.

 When we woke up I read on the Ipad and  then when we got to the train station we got off. Then we got onto a bus and it took us near our cabin then we crossed the street to our cabin.On the bus we saw a herd of reindeer! It was nice and reminded me of our camp. It was nice and then we ate some noodles. Then mom walked about a mile to pick up the rental car and get groceries then mom came back and I put away the groceries. Then The person that was going to take us fishing came over and we made a time to meet the next morning and go fishing.Then they showed mom the fishing spot. Then when mom got me,mom and Daniel went to a bird watching tower. It was cool. Then we went back and went to a cafe thing in the grocery store and i got the chicken and it was gross. Then we went back to the cabin and mom said that we were going to a river to go fishing. So we found the river and started fishing.It was fun but we didn't catch any fish. After that we went back to the cabin and went to bed.

 At around 11:00pm Mom woke us up and we went outside to see the Northern Lights! They were amazing! They were Green! It was so cool! Though it was really cold. The next morning we woke up and went downstairs and ate breakfast. It was Nutella on toast. It was good.then we went fishing with some people next door . We went to a lake called Kasenkajarvi. It was definitely bigger the our lake and there was a lot of row boats. Then the people took us into two row boats. Me and Daniel were in the boat with the guy that didn't know any English and Mom and Gab were in the boat with the guy that spoke pretty good English. Then we went out onto the lake. First We were trolling witch is where you cast the line in then the motor or the paddles move you and you don't have to do anything. We did that for about 30 minutes when we heard a splashing and looked at gabs boat. Gab had caught a Salmon. Then we went to a little hut with a fire and it felt warm because it was cold outside. When we got there mom had brought hot dogs so we cooked them. They were good because we were starving. We also had grapes and chips. Then we went back to trolling and we didn't catch anything. Then we went back to the cabin and at the cabin the people offered for us to go evening fishing and of course we said yes! so we went inside and mom made  spaghetti with meatballs. In the middle of the meal someone came to our door and we opened the door and the person had a tray with gabs salmon and it was cooked. Then we ate Gabs Salmon and it was Delicious! Then we went fishing at the same place and Daniel caught little pike that was about 6 inches. after that we went back and went to sleep.

 The next day we had breakfast then we went to a farm. The farm had Horses, Ponies, Llamas, Sheep, Pigs, Dogs, Camels, Ostriches, and Finngoat (Finnish Goat). They also had 1 big trampoline and 1 small trampoline. First we went to the trampoline then we saw all the  animals. Then a little dogs spotted us and ran towards us and he played with us for a little while. Then we went back to our cabin and got all of our bags and went back to the farm. There mom signed me up for a horse back riding lesson. Then For the first time ever i got to go horse back riding! It was so much fun! We  first walked then we trotted then we cantered. Just to let you know horse back riding hurt your but. Then we kept horse back riding for an hour and after that we took the ponies to their stables and went to a little museum and we had lunch there. Then we went inside and it had a shop, a cafe and the museum. The museum was downstairs so we went downstairs and there was a little bear cave with pillows and big stuffed animals. So mom went to the information part and we stayed at the bear cave. Then mom came back and we went to the art section and there was a tiny theater that was showing nature things so we watched that for awhile. Then we went  upstairs and bought a deck of Finnish fish cards, two pictures one was a eagle in a snowy forest and the other one was of the northern lights and we got a Finnish fish poster. Then we went outside and we saw a little stand with reindeer skin and antlers plus some really smooth rocks. So we looked  the thing for awhile then mom said that we could get something from there or at a stuffed animal shop and gab immediately said yes. Then i asked mom if i could get a reindeer skin and she said...yes! So i got the reindeer skin gab got two stuffed animals and Daniel got a smooth rock. then we went to a restaurant and had reindeer meat and pizza and pasta. we all shared and the reindeer meat was delicious! Then we got all the stuff out of the car and went to the train station. On the way to the train station we saw 4 reindeer. At the train station we got onto the train and went home.
